Job description

Axon Moore are working with a leading construction business who are seeking a Transactional Manager to look after the efficient running of the Subcontract Ledger, Purchase Ledger and Sales ledger across the UK and ROI to ensure that liabilities/receivables are processed and paid in line with Company policy and external guidelines.


The Transactional Manager will ensure that the team complete all duties and oversee VAT rules, CIS and RCT in relation to subcontract/purchase ledger payments.


Duties:
  • Team management including delegation & allocation of workload, training of team, setting targets, development objectives and managing performance.
  • Monitoring and processing subcontractor and supplier payments on timely basis and in line with VAT/CIS/RCT regulations to ensure accurate costs are recorded each month end.
  • Monitoring and processing Contract Sales Invoices & Discounting Reconciliations in line with Company policy
  • Monitoring and processing expense payments in line with Company policy
  • Verification of subcontractors, contract & payment notifications through ROS for ROI works
  • Issuing ledger reports and collating responses prior to payment meetings
  • Processing payment runs in GBP & EUR and arranging same day/international payments
  • Processing and Review of Aged Debtors/Creditors  and retentions, statement reconciliations
  • CIS & RCT returns
  • Monitoring/processing legal claims to ensure risks are mitigated and serious issues are escalated internally
  • Maintain relationship with HMRC in relation to CIS scheme and respond to any HMRC inspection requests
  • Supplier query resolution – Ensuring the team is responding quickly, efficiently, proactively and professionally to all supplier queries including regular supplier statement reconciliations
  • Other ad hoc tasks as required to ensure smooth operation of Finance department
Person Specification:


We are looking for an experienced Transactional Manager with a knowledge of CIS, ideally a construction background, plus strong leadership skills.
  • At least 5 years relevant Accounts Supervisor experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Subcontract Ledger and CIS/RCT
  • Experience of working with ERP systems
  • Forecasting & cash flow experience
  • Teamwork & relationship management with internal and external stakeholders
  • Flexible approach to work, planning and time management
  • Leadership and delegation skills
  • Awareness of all tax and VAT implications related to the subcontract ledger and purchase ledger in UK and ROI
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to listen and appreciate impact of team’s work on the rest of the business
  • Advanced Excel skills
