Axon Moore have been engaged by an immediately recognisable brand based in Leeds city centre to assist in sourcing a UK Financial Accountant to join their finance function. This is a highly visible role, working for a fantastic brand in West Yorkshire.

You will combine your technical knowledge with communication and prioritisation skills to ensure a strong control environment is maintained and help the business to meet its objectives.

Key remit:
• Executing and improving key statutory reporting processes (e.g. annual accounts preparation and approval, liaising with other key stakeholders such as Tax, FP&A and External Audit)
• Taking responsibility for key control processes in the team's remit (e.g. month-end reconciliation preparation and review activities; reconciling external and intercompany debt balances and transactions; accounting for FX-denominated transactions including foreign currency hedges; cash repatriation planning, approval and execution)
• Execution of various month-end group reporting processes for a variety of audiences
• Project responsibilities relating to the evolution of the group structure, associated statutory reporting and group reporting processes following Asda's proposed transition to new ownership
• Participating in cross-functional projects which improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the statutory reporting processes and corporate structure

In order to be considered you must have:
• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
• Strong academic background
• Great analytical and communication skills
• Ability to identify and execute accounting and control projects to improve the control environment
• Manage competing priorities of your workload and that of the junior members of the team
• Attention to detail whilst demonstrating ability to work at pace
• Confidence liaising with people at all levels

Salary:
• £36,000 - £40,000
• City Centre free parking
