Finance Director, Slaithwaite
£70,000 - £75,000 + substantial benefits
MTE Heat Treatment Ltd is a privately owned and highly profitable business based in Slaithwaite, West Yorkshire. From their 30,000 sq ft facility, MTE provide a sub-contract service for the heat treatment and surface engineering of metals. They serve a broad range of sectors, including the automotive and heavy automotive sectors, marine, energy and precision engineering industries.
As part of a long-term succession plan, the current FD is taking a step back and will become the Executive Chairman as the business enters an exciting stage of development with renewed contracts and lucrative opportunities for future growth and investment.
The Finance Director will be a true self-starter and must be able to demonstrate an interest in being hands on and very close to the day to day running of the business. This cannot be overstated because the role will include all aspects of finance, HR, IT, commercial and corporate strategy.
The wider Board members are experts in their field and this role must collaborate closely with them to ensure that they have the ability to evolve their client relationships, pursue R&D objectives and advance production methodologies in line with the strategy of the business.
Evolving financial insight within the business is important for identifying opportunities for further profit but only a single strand of this multi-faceted role which will have a direct impact on the bottom line.
The successful candidate will see themselves as a strong “all-rounder” who has the energy and commitment to take on a broad role without the perceived luxury of a team. You will have a proactive and entrepreneurial approach with an interest and ability to look at future investment and / or MBI opportunities.
Interpersonally, candidates must be confident communicators who are able to develop relationships at every level within the organisation. Walking the factory floor and building relationships with the workforce will be as important as your ability and interest in courting external advisors and investors.
