Axon Moore Conduct Mock Interviews with Sixth Form Students

Back to Blogs

Some of our Yorkshire-based team were invited by Notre Dame Sixth Form College in Leeds to conduct in-person mock interviews earlier this week. Consultants in attendance from our Leeds office included Louise Stowe and Elise Newbrooke, who both enjoyed the opportunity to share their knowledge, tips and interview advice with 17 and 18-year old students.

At Axon Moore, it is our passion to connect talent with opportunity and it’s also an aim of ours to help prepare people, so they have the confidence and ability to eloquently discuss their skills and experience in the interview environment. As such, it was a genuine pleasure to be able to run through some interview techniques to help prepare the students for the big, wide world of work.

Interviews at any level can be very daunting, so it was wonderful for our Axon Moore staff, who speak to candidates all day long, to impart their wisdom onto dozens of final year students. Once the students got past some initial nerves, they settled in well to the day and were enthusiastic, eager to learn and made some tremendous efforts throughout. We were particularly impressed with how the students helped to make the mock interviews feel as real as possible, something which made the day extra rewarding for all those involved!

We were delighted when the opportunity came about with Notre Dame’s Employer Engagement Lead, Georgia Ferguson, who helped orchestrate what was a fantastic day of practicing interview techniques with the next generation.

We are looking forward to partnering with their careers team on a more regular basis in order to offer career guidance and help plenty of students perform at their best in any upcoming interviews.
