Job description

Axon Moore are working with an SME sized business based in Radcliffe to appoint an Accounts Assistant on a 3 month fixed term contract. Now part of a larger group, the business has just been acquired which has been a exciting time.

The role will assist the Accounts Team Leader and her team in catching up on some outstanding purchase and sales ledger work.

Salary and benefits:

Salary - £23,000 - £26,000 DOE, 25 days holiday plus banks (pro-rata), pension, free parking, 37.5 hours a week.

Responsibilities include:
  • Reconciling supplier invoices to expected cost spreadsheets.
  • Processing payables invoices and credit notes in Sage.
  • Production of monthly customer invoices in Excel.
  • Raising sales invoices and credit notes in Sage.
  • Dealing with invoices queries that arise and proactively resolving queries with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.
  • Payment run preparation and uploading of payments for approval.
  • Checking and reconciling supplier statements.
  • Credit control and aged debt management.
  • Providing support to the Accounts Team Lead and Financial Controller as required.
Experience & Skill Requirements:
  • Experience in sales and purchase ledger
  • Good knowledge of excel (vlookups, pivot tables etc)
  • Preferable to have experience of using Sage 50
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Conform to company procedures
  • Confident communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good telephone manner
  • Team player with a can-do attitude
