Job Overview:

Axon Moore are delighted to be once again working on behalf of a fantastic client based in Central Manchester who are looking to add an Assistant Management Accountant to their high calibre team on a 12 month fixed term contract.

Salary: Up to £28,500

Location: Manchester

Main Duties:

The Assistant Management Accountant for the Management Accounts/Non-Trade Purchase Ledger team participates in the accounting and reporting activities for the Group and subsidiaries, with particular focus supporting the month end management accounts and overseeing the reconciliation and payment processes. The role requires providing cover support for both the Management Accountant and Finance Assistant alike.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Overseeing the day-to-day running of the Non-Trade Purchase Ledger team, including managing work loads of two Finance Assistants, reviewing of supplier payments and supporting with any queries
  • Maintaining the general ledger within Sage200 including manual and bulk journal entry
  • Cashbook and bank reconciliation – incorporating multiple foreign currencies
  • Maintaining fixed assets registers and processing depreciation journals in Sage 200
  • Assisting with accruals and prepayments
  • Assisting with year end and interim audit requests
  • Working with large volumes of transactions, solving discrepancies, using Sage200, Sicon WAP and Excel
  • Ability to solve problems with attention to detail
Person Specification:
  • Prior experience within a similar role is required
  • AAT Level 4 or part qualified ACCA/CIMA is desirable
  • Experience of using Excel and strong Microsoft office skills
  • Experience of manipulating and breaking down large volumes of data
  • Experience of using Sage 200 is desirable
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to take ownership and manage workloads to tight deadlines
