Job description

Axon Moore are exclusively recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing business based in Trafford Park. The business is a leading UK retailer with a large presence online and with its stores. They are expanding and looking to bring on board an enthusiastic and driven Assistant Management Accountant.  
My client is seeking a motivated AAT qualified or early stage/part-qualified CIMA/ACCA Assistant Management Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis. This would be the ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic, driven individual looking for a busy, developmental role, supporting the preparation of financial reports, analysis and month-end process.

Salary and benefits:

Salary - £30-35k DOE plus study support, 21 days holiday plus bank holidays and 2 extra days, pension, free parking, flexible working hours (start from 7am), company retail discounts, casual dress, health and welfare benefits, plus amazing new offices with gym, showers, gorgeous new open plan spaces, kitchen and amphitheatre.

Responsibilities include:
  • Supporting the Management Accountant and Finance Manager with the month-end process and other duties that occur within the month
  • Expenses management/analysis and timely payments
  • Producing Turnover Certificates in timely manner and managing relationship with Landlords
  • Sales reconciliation
  • Web bank reconciliation
  • Sales Batch posting
  • Electricity Prepayment/Accruals and Analysis
  • Service Prepayment/Accruals and Analysis
  • Computer Analysis
  • Maintenance Analysis
  • Ad hoc work
Experience & Skill Requirements:
  • AAT qualified or early stage/part-qualified accountant – ACCA/CIMA
  • Retail experience would be highly beneficial
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Strong IT skills, notably in Excel
  • A good understanding of financial accounting principles and concepts, a strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping
  • Ability to communicate to different levels in the organisation
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage changing priorities
  • Work under own initiative
