Job description

Axon Moore are recruiting a Finance Director/ Chief Financial Officer for a highly entrepreneurial, rapidly growing tech disruptor based in central Manchester. Currently at c.£5m t/o, they are on the cusp of securing significant external investment that will help to provide the platform for continued growth with revenues expected to double to c.£10m next year.

The company has experienced explosive growth in recent years and has built a global customer base of some of the biggest and most exciting brands out there. Due to its success, the organisation now requires its first FD/CFO to build and drive the financial and commercial structure of the business. Working alongside the founding CEO and COO, you will be the third person in the senior leadership team and will be heavily involved in decision making and driving the company forward.

The incoming FD/CFO must be able to add real value to the strategic direction and growth of the business whilst also adopting a hands-on approach with regard to the financial detail of the company and development of the finance function. Currently outsourced, you will be responsible for bringing the finance function ‘in-house’, providing suitable finance infrastructure and developing high quality, quickly available MI in order to allow for agile decision making and recommendations that will enable further expansion. Alongside the day-to-day finance responsibilities, you will lead on any strategic projects, including acquisitions and investment processes from start to finish.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a can-do attitude, a passion for adding value and “going the extra mile” as part of the senior leadership team, challenging where necessary, and working to drive forward ongoing improvement across the organisation. Culture here is extremely important; the right person will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact well with individuals at every level of the business and successfully manage external relationships.

Applicants must have an excellent track record of developing and growing with a business, providing top quality MI, a strategic and highly commercial skill set and the ability to drive positive change and growth.  Any prior experience of M&A is helpful but not essential.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join an incredibly high potential business, on the verge of significant investment with an outstanding wealth creation opportunity as equity and/or LTIPs are up for discussion for the right candidate.
