Commercial Business Controller | £50k-£60k | Retail | South MCR | Hybrid
I am delighted to be working alongside an exceptional organisation based in South Manchester who are looking to bring onboard a commercially minded, Qualified Accountant into their team.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, with succession planning very much in mind, this role will play a pivotal role in the ongoing development of business planning and performance. With a focus on Budgeting/ Forecasting, Business Partnering, Commercial Analysis and Business Control - this is an outstanding opportunity for anyone with a background in both Management and Commercial accounting.
Working 3 days in the office, and flexible working hours, this is an organisation that prides itself on employee engagement and welfare, with time dedicated to assess the development of the office workplace.
Location: South Manchester
Salary: £50,000-£60,000
Main Duties:
• Manage the 3 year business plan and monthly forecasts.
• Deep dive into financial results to support the wider business as they strive to achieve financial targets, looking at business/ economic and environmental drivers.
• Completes month-end and year-end closing analysis.
• Drive financial planning processes for indirect expenses.
• Support Country Functions during closing, forecast and 3-year plan / budgeting process.
• Assists various functions with reporting and KPIs to support the achievement of financial targets.
• Ensure all local, regional and corporate reporting for the Country is completed accurately and on-time.
• Manages business cases analysis for major investments.
• Ensures compliance with measurement systems defined for evaluating CAPEX and investments.
• Supports Financial Controller with month end procedures including accruals, prepayments, and inter-company transactions
• Works with Financial Controller to ensure complete and accurate accounting records.
• Monitor inventory levels and advise the leadership team on inventory strategy.
• Ensure that purchasing guidelines are operated.
• Monitor and control logistics costs / inventory provision impact on the P&L.
Person Specification:
• CIMA/ ACCA or ACA Qualified.
• A strong commercial finance background with demonstrable experience in a similar role.
• Demonstrate passion and drive for commercial finance.
• A clear understand of Management Accounts and a wider finance function.
• Advanced Excel skills.
