Axon Moore are delighted to be partnering with a fantastic company as they add an Accounts Assistant – Sales Ledger into their team. The successful candidate will support the Head of Finance  with the day to day running of the Accounts Receivable function. This role is ideal for someone with experience in a Sales Ledger environment as well as credit control. There will also be opportunities to progress and develop within the finance team of this rapidly growing business.

 JOB TITLE:         Accounts Assistant – Sales Ledger

REPORT TO:     Head of Finance – Transactions

LOCATION:       West Manchester, Swinton area

Main duties:
  • Record all payments and transactions received from Customers.
  • Allocate receipts across key accounts using remittances exported from Customer portals.
  • Create invoices according to company practices and submit invoices to customers (including checking VAT has been applied correctly).
  • Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and contact customers to request payment.
  • Investigate and resolve any queries relating to outstanding payments including the raising of credit notes where applicable.
  • Perform a regular review of the Aged Debtors ledger and add commentary to explain why payment has not been received.
  • Ensure accurate setup of accounts on Sage for new customers.

Person specification:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel.
  • Experience using accounting software programs such as Sage 200.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
