Axon Moore are delighted to be working with a large market leading business with a long-standing history and pedigree in their expert field, who require an enthusiastic and pro-active Finance Assistant (with a prime focus on Purchase Ledger – Foreign Payments) to join their cashier’s department. Based in Knutsford, the company has a turnover in excess of 1 billion and trades from over 370 locations in the UK.
You will be joining a team of nine friendly finance assistants and will assist in compiling Foreign Payments along with various Purchase Ledger related activities. You will be required to adopt and promote a hands-on approach.

Primary duties will include the following:
- processing foreign supplier payments generated from the purchase ledger
- maintaining a dual currency cashbook, estimating the currency purchase necessary and the monthly revaluation calculation
- resolving purchase ledger queries from suppliers and branch managers
- monthly bank reconciliations
- completing general ledger journals to reduce the number of unreconciled items on the bank reconciliation
- processing bank transfers/cheques for one-off payments
- various system maintenance tasks
- ad-hoc administrative duties
- have excellent team working skills including communication and prioritisation
- have at least 2 years’ office experience.
- have previous accounts payable experience
- have experience making foreign payments
- have experience in bank reconciliation
- have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- be able to communicate effectively with different internal and external stakeholders
- be able to work to tight deadline while paying attention to details
- have a strong work ethic (including excellent punctuality and attendance)
