Finance Business Partner | Stoke | ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified | PE Backed Retailer | £40,000-£50,000

Job Overview:

Axon Moore are exclusively working on behalf of a Private Equity backed retailer, embarking on an exciting three-year journey as they look to double their t/o and achieve a PE transaction. As part of this business growth, a newly created Finance Business Partner role has been created to provide commercial insight for the SLT and wider PE stakeholders.

Working directly with an audit trained Finance Director, this role will provide significant opportunities to progress with mentorship and development being of paramount importance to the leadership team. Collaborating with the FD and wider SLT, the successful applicant will need to hold excellent analytical skills, couple with a strong communication skillset to present financial information to relevant stakeholders.

This position is a rare opportunity on the market to work in a high growth organisation, gain valuable PE experience and have a mentor whose focus is to support your development toward a Finance Director position.

Salary: £40,000-50,000

Additional info: Discretionary Bonus, 5 days working in the office, with hybrid working to be introduced shortly, Professional fee subscription paid, 30 days annual leave (including bank holidays), with this to be enhanced shortly.

Location: Stoke

Main Duties:
  • Ownership of the group management information pack. Full consolidation, preparation and reconciliation of balance sheet, preparation of schedules to support the MI Pack, and draft commentary and relevant insights.
  • Group Financial Forecast preparation bi-annually.
  • Drafting of annual financial statements for the group (UK GAAP).
  • Licensing Reporting and forecasting for both internal and external stakeholders meeting the business and external stakeholders’ needs.
  • Customer, supplier and product performance and profitability reports.
  • Working capital analysis including 13 Week stock and cashflow analysis, and bank covenant testing.
  • Weekly reports including the Sales and business KPI reports.
  • Project budgeting for costs revenue and profitability.
  • Pricing and margin analysis.
  • Support the FD with the set-up of a new US entity enabling for smooth handover to the accounting team.
  • Support the FD with any potential business mergers and acquisitions.
  • Support the business in the development and launch of a new ERP system.
  • Work with the leadership team to Create of a suite of relevant and insightful reports for Sales, Product, Operations and Finance.
  • Centralise all existing reports prepared by finance, and identify and implement ways to report that meet the business’ growing needs
  • Implement quarterly ESG reports to management capturing the necessary data and goals to report.
Person Specification:
  • ACA/ ACCA or CIMA Part Qualified or Qualified.
  • Comfortable working with large data sets.
  • Experience working in an environment with tight deadlines.
  • Advanced Excel skill set.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to disseminate financial information to none financial stakeholders.
