Interim Finance Manager
Manchester, United Kingdom
Interim (6 month contract)
Hybrid (3 days on-site, 2 days remote)

Our client is a leading retail business located in Manchester, dedicated to providing high-quality products and services to its customers. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a dedicated and experienced Interim Head of Financial Reporting to oversee critical financial processes and lead a team responsible for transactional operations during a 6-month contract. This role is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to make a significant impact on the financial stability and success of the organisation.

As the Interim Finance Manager you will play a central role in managing financial operations, providing guidance to the transactional team, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of various financial functions. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial data and producing timely reports to support informed decision-making within the company during a 6-month contract.

Duties:
  • Mentor the transactional team, ensuring invoices are raised, remittances are posted, and payments are accurately allocated.
  • Oversee the generation of Management Information reports to support executive decision-making.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Manage and execute payment runs efficiently.
  • Oversee the payroll process to ensure accurate and timely payments to employees.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the financial reporting function.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, to support financial audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Person Specification:
  • A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
  • Proven experience in financial reporting and management within a corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems and accounting software.
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to manage a transactional team and ensure the completion of day-to-day financial tasks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adaptability to meet changing business requirements.
