Finance Officer | £35,000 - £45,000 | Chorley | Broad exposure | High-growth business
Axon Moore are proud to be partnering an enterprising business in Chorley as they recruit for a Finance Officer looking to take responsibility for the business’ financial and accounting processes and help shape the business as they continue to enjoy a period of sustained growth.
This broad, office-based role encompasses a range of general finance administration and bookkeeping duties as well as the production of monthly management accounts, financial analysis, budgets, business plans and the production of regular finance information and the presentation of this to the Board. As such, it is essential that candidates are able to effectively convey their findings and areas for improvement to senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Ensuring the business meets all its statutory and compliance obligations, including statutory accounting and tax issues
- Creation of new, and maintenance of, existing finance policies to ensure operational efficiency
- Production of management accounts and input into statutory accounts
- Oversee the production and planning of budgets, forecasts and business plans
- Contribution to finance audits
- General bookkeeping, reconciliation, payments, and invoicing
- Payroll and pensions processing and management
- Production and development of finance related management information
- Preparation, attendance, and presentation of financial information to the company’s Board and committees
- Completing and submitting tax returns, including Insurance Premium Tax, PAYE Tax, National Insurance, and corporation tax
- Monitor the company’s investments
- Liaison with the company’s actuaries, banks, external accountants, investment advisors and auditors
- AAT Qualified or Part-Qualified ACCA/CIMA
- Experience within the production and preparation of Management Accounts
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Experience using Xero (desired).
- Assured verbal communication skills
- Analytically minded with excellent attention to detail
- Process-driven and able to effectively convey ideas for improvement
- Well organised with good time management skills
- Proactive and hard-working with an inquisitive mindset

- 37.5 hours / week (8.30 – 5, Monday – Friday)
