As the business continues to go from strength to strength align your career on the same trajectory whilst working in a close-knit, positive and progressive working environment.

The Role:

As Financial Accountant, reporting directly into the Head of Finance you will be ultimately responsible for the accuracy and validity of the balance sheet; very much producing and reviewing. As well as the specific tasks below you'll also be reviewing transaction postings by other members of the team.

• Ensuring all payroll-related and cash balance sheet items are reconciled weekly;
• All other balance sheet items reconciled monthly;
• Submitting VAT, PAYE and CT returns and paying taxes on time;
• Working with IT and Facilities to ensure the fixed asset register is up to date;
• Managing the finance clerk, who is accountable for the purchase ledger and cashbook and providing holiday cover for that role;
• Work closely with the Pay-Bill Manager to maintain and improve payroll tax compliance;
• Managing accruals/prepayments, intercompany and directors’ loan accounts; and
• Ad hoc analysis.

You:

We are looking for someone with a good level of accounting experience and technical knowledge; with the ability to spot mispostings quickly. As such, you should be CIMA/ACCA qualified or nearing completion.

Experience of performing balance sheet reconciliations is preferable but not essential.

Similarly, experience of using Microsoft Navision or similar accounting software would be advantageous.

Our client's industry is a fast-paced, with a mixture of high-volume routine transactions and urgent ad hoc requests. Therefore you will need to be able to demonstrate an ability to work quickly and efficiently whilst also having the self-discipline to manage your own workload with minimal supervision.
