Group Accountant (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)
North Manchester
£50,000 - £60,000

One of Axon Moore’s key clients, a European market leading PLC are looking to add a qualified accountant with previous audit experience to their team for a circa of initially 12 months.

This is a unique role with a high level of exposure to CFO, CEO & Divisional FDs where your role will encompass group reporting responsibilities, supporting half year, year-end close and statutory accounts. Whilst utilising your technical skillset gained from your time in Audit, you will also play a key part in producing forecasts and have an input into the annual budget, in addition to business partnering with senior stakeholders and providing meaningful analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Control month end reporting process with responsibility for managing the timetable and closing of ledgers
  • Ownership of SAP master data and Hyperion FDM rules and mappings
  • Reconcile month-end exceptional costs, and review with Group Financial Accounting Manager
  • Work with Group Financial Accounting Manager to implement process improvements
  • Manage the balance sheet reviews process with Chief Accountants so that all entities are reviewed at least quarterly
  • Manage half-year and year-end Risks & Ops reviews
  • Manage IFRS 16 processes and queries including providing support to Chief Accountants to ensure accurate and complete recording.
  • Reconcile month-end IFRS 16 leases for UK entity
  • Ownership of the leasing software data – customise reports and act as super user for this software
  • Manage and report the group net sales for month end
  • Reconcile month-end group financial instruments
  • Manage payroll journals for the group, using outputs from the ADP software
  • Manage the creation of new cost centres and general ledger accounts for the group
  • Support the year-end external audit, being a key contact for Group audit team
  • Manage implementation of internal audit recommendations, liaising with and supporting Chief Accountants as required
  • Analysis of additional statutory reporting to ensure accurate and complete data for Interim and Annual Reports
  • Support the quarterly legal claims review to ensure completeness of provisions and relevant support for audit requirements
  • Involved in process improvement and system implementation projects, as required by Management
  • Deputise for and provide ad hoc support for Group Financial Accounting Manager
  • Ad hoc requests and support for Finance-related projects
