Job description

Our client is a PE backed, international, multi-site design and manufacturing organisation supplying blue-chip brands throughout the UK. With ambitious plans for further growth organically and via acquisition the business seeks to build upon its market leading position and deliver significant shareholder value.

As part of their growth plans they wish to appoint a high calibre commercial Group Financial Controller to  drive profitable growth and improved operational efficiency across the Group. This is a P&L focussed position that will have significant impact on the performance of the Group.

The role is an excellent career development opportunity; providing a bridge into a PE backed organisation with well-developed exit plans, and a clear step towards a CFO position in the future.

Reporting directly to the CFO key areas of responsibility will be:
  • Management of the finance and accountancy function across; ensuring that proper controls, systems are in place across the Group
  • Direction and co-ordination of financial strategy and structure
  • Driving and monitoring a culture of increased efficiency and profit improvement
  • Play a key role in improving working capital and cash generation
  • Placing shareholder value creation is at the forefront of decision-making
  • Developing robust and resilient financial decision making tools, MI and KPI’s and supporting the data with insight and information
  • Working to roll-out new systems and improve the usage and output from the current infrastructure
  • Support the budgeting, forecasting and planning cycles and Cap-ex planning
  • Work closely with the CFO on contracts and commercial legal matters
To be considered for this opportunity you will need to be a qualified accountant with significant post qualification experience, operating in a senior role with extensive exposure to manufacturing. You will need a commercial mindset and outstanding communication skills. The role is truly hybrid and could be based from home. It will involve regular travel to the various UK operations (predominantly North West based) and European locations as required.
