Group Financial Controller l Manchester l Healthcare l PE-Backed| Highly-Acquisitive

Job Overview:

Axon Moore are delighted to be partnering with our client in their search for a Group Financial Controller that will aid them on their growth journey after an exciting acquisition. This position will be responsible for managing the finance functions across all group companies, and will report directly to the CFO of the business.

Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 + bonus

Location: Manchester

Main Duties:
  • Management and development of the finance functions across the group, providing coaching and mentoring to enhance engagement within the business.
  • Monthly management accounts – ensure the finance teams produce accurate and timely management accounts in line with reporting duties.
  • Variance analysis – full analysis and reporting against budget/forecast, which will be commercially-focused to identify costs savings and greater efficiencies and opportunities for growth.
  • Covenant compliance.
  • Treasury.
  • M&A transactions – support the CEO and CFO in M&A transactions as part of the group’s ‘buy and build’ strategy.
  • M&A integration – manage the integration of the finance functions and processes of newly-acquired businesses into the group’s processes and timetables.
  • Debt financing.
  • Board report.
  • Payroll.
  • Financial controls and procedures.
  • Audit and statutory accounts.
  • VAT.
  • Finance system.
  • Investor requests.
  • Asset finance.
  • Insurance renewals.
Person Specification:
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA-qualified.
  • Minimum of 3 years PQE.
  • Prior experience in leading and managing a team.
  • Prior experience in working for a PE-backed business is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Group reporting experience (including consolidations and integration of businesses).
  • Comfortability with working on own initiative.
  • Outstanding organisational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent numerical and budgeting skills.
