Job description

Axon Moore are exclusively recruiting on behalf of a growing, PE backed business based in Chadderton. The business is well established in the market and has a turnover of over £150m. They are creating a new role which with support the Group Management Accountant.

This new role has been created in line with growing business demands, as we put greater emphasis on the Group’s central cost centres, and you will be pivotal in providing support and analysis to the Group’s functional leads. The role will include elements of the finance cycle, liaising with management accounts to consolidate and analyse monthly performance of the Group’s central cost centres, assisting the functional leads with the cyclical budget and forecasting activities as well as assisting with the wider Group Finance requirements. Study support is included for CIMA/ACCA as they are looking for someone quite ambitious.

Salary and benefits:

Salary - £38-45k DOE plus study support, 25 days holiday, 5% matched pension, parking, Medicash and flexibility and hybrid working (3 days in the office).

Responsibilities include:
  • Establishing strong working relationships with senior executives and the Group Finance Team bridging the gap between Actual results and outward forecasts
  • Processing, collating, querying and analysing:
  • the results of our central functions and for group as a whole including revenue, margins, operating costs, overheads, cash, working capital, capex
  • quarterly forecasts and annual budgets for each central cost centre
  • Producing reporting & planning packs for our Executive Team and external stakeholders, providing data to aid and facilitate strategic decision making
  • Undertake regular meetings with budget holders to report on actual performance
  • Mitigating process and reporting errors, and identifying opportunities to improve processes
  • Working as part of the FP&A team to improve processes & apply FP&A best practice across the Group. Maximising utility of the new Vena consolidation software.
  • Partner with wider finance community as required
  • Ad hoc duties as and when required by the business
Experience & Skill Requirements:
  • A part/nearly qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA accountant.
  • 2-3 years prior experience in a Management Accounts/FP&A role is preferable with an appetite to develop yourself in the role and the role in the business
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills 
  • Advanced Excel & data manipulation
  • Strong Word & PowerPoint skills – particularly formatting & interactions with Excel
  • Experience of having improved business processes and creating standard reporting
  • Experience of working with enterprise level business intelligence and planning tools e.g. VENA, PowerBI
  • Able to work on own initiative and manage own workload to strict deadlines
  • Strong communication and team working skills.
  • Driven individual with excellent attention to detail and strong organisation skills
