Group Treasury Manager | £60k-£65k+bonus | South MCR | 2 days office

Job Overview:
Axon Moore are delighted to be working with a long term client who have an excellent finance team based in South Manchester who are once again looking to bolster their finance team with the addition of a Group Treasury Manager.

Reporting to the Head of Treasury, this role will be part of a strong team, with a focus on a variety of projects including: new systems, liaising with tax, foreign currency hedging, intercompany support and a variety of other exciting projects.

Main Duties
• Taking a lead role in the ongoing hedging strategy project working alongside Tax advisors.
• Identification and implementation of new systems to drive efficiencies.
• Opportunity to lead on or be involved in various wide-ranging Group Treasury projects.
• Direct line manager for the Group Financial Analyst and one overseas employee.
• Responsible for setting objectives for the team in line with wider Group objectives.
• Provide training and on-the-job feedback to the team.
• Manage the continuing development of team members.
• Support the ongoing development of the organisations foreign currency policy to ensure a successful group-wide implementation.
• Develop, improve, and document the foreign exchange processes and policies across the Group.
• Monitor adherence to foreign currency processes and policies across the Group.
• Provide regular high quality informative reporting on foreign currency positions.
• Oversee the production of regular foreign currency forecasts and sensitivity analysis.
• Investigate and implement hedging tools across the Group to manage exposures.
• Provide oversight of the Group’s monthly hedging process.
• Work alongside other areas of the business including the wider Group Treasury team, Tax and Finance to ensure a coordinated approach is taken to managing risks.
• Responsible for adding value by looking at ways to mitigate the risk of foreign currency losses and taxable gains.
• Oversee the accurate accounting and management of external financial instruments, under both IFRS and UK GAAP.
• Oversee the preparation of detailed workings for the annual Group interest recharges, notes to the financial statements relating to interest rate and foreign exchange risk.
• Management of the intercompany loan environment, ensuring that loans are regularly reviewed, only necessary loans are created, and that the foreign currency revaluation of these loans are accounted for correctly.
• Provide input from a currency exposure perspective to a range of intercompany loan situations, such as the structuring of new loan arrangements and the payment of dividends.
• Act as the main point of contact for foreign currency strategies across the Group, providing guidance to regional teams as required.
• Preparation of ad-hoc reports and analysis as required.

Person Specification

• Qualified accountant with experience working in a Treasury function.
• Experience of foreign currency management in a multi-currency Group is required.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to produce high quality reports suitable for Board level presentation.
• Experience of team management.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• An enthusiastic, well organised and committed individual.
• Pro-active with a “can do” attitude.
• Ability to take responsibility for delivering to deadlines as required.
