The Company

Axon Moore is partnering with an market leading tech business as it looks to expand within Finance. The business prides itself on its ambition, clear focus and its rapidly evolving presence. Our client is looking for an exceptional Head of Finance that is attracted to the prospect of leading a team, driving change and empowering people development in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Salary: £90,000 - £100,000
Location: South Manchester/ Hybrid

Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and guide the Finance team, setting clear objectives to ensure exceptional performance and timely completion of all tasks.
  • Supervise the month-end process, monitoring progress at key stages and identifying any risks or significant discrepancies to be reported to the Financial Director.
  • Manage the Sub-ledgers effectively to optimize Working Capital and minimize financial risks.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships with the finance function.
  • Spearhead monthly balance sheet reviews, ensuring effective risk management and control measures are in place.
  • Collaborate with the team to review and support in the preparation of weekly/quarterly rolling forecasts and annual budgets, presenting findings to both local and wider stakeholders.
  • Uphold robust financial controls while continuously seeking opportunities to enhance existing procedures.
  • Provide support and guidance to the wider team, aiding in their professional development.
  • Oversee and lead the implementation of new systems to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to month-end procedures and financial planning.
Person Specification:
  • Must be a Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and nurturing Finance teams.
  • Proven track record of thriving in fast-paced work environments.
  • Capable of effectively managing a high-volume workload within a dynamic and evolving setting.
  • Possesses strong analytical skills, with the ability to quickly grasp core business principles and communicate effectively.
  • Hands-on experience in management reporting within a large and intricate business context.
  • Ambitious individual eager to contribute immediate value to the division.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting targets and driving process enhancements.
  • Exhibits strong leadership abilities and adept at cultivating relationships with key stakeholders.
