Junior Audit & Accounts Assistant | £25,000 - £30,000 + Study Support | Wigan | Leading Practice | Scope to progress
Axon Moore are pleased to be working alongside a long-lasting client in their search to recruit an analytical and ambitious Junior Auditor & Accounts Assistant to their specialist team following several generations of successful operations working predominantly within the North West.
This role is well suited to academically-sharp, aspiring chartered accountants who possess excellent problem-solving skills as well as an ability to present solutions effectively. Given the exceptional scope to progress within this role, successful candidates will also boast a hard-working and self-motivated mindset with a clear desire to succeed.
Progression Plan
The successful candidate will have a clear and comprehensive programme of development that will include full study support towards either ACA/ACCA or AAT. This role will naturally progress over time and will offer a wide range of exposure to various tasks and responsibilities. Once fully trained, opportunities for internal progression and promotion are commonplace within this great business.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist audit seniors on a variety of audits from planning to completion, including stock take attendance
- Deal with audit and accounting matters and document work done and conclusions.
- Preparing statutory accounts using IRIS (mainly under FRS102)
- Draft corporate and personal tax returns and routine compliance work
- Liaise with clients ensuring timely delivery of services and dealing with queries
- Analysing and presenting key information to senior stakeholders
- Ensure client accounts and tax affairs are organised and up to date with new information
- Other ad-hoc duties
- Working towards the attainment of ACA/ACCA or AAT qualification
- Good knowledge of Sage and Xero software
- Experience working with Audit or a similar role (desired)
- Exceptional numerical aptitude
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex tax matters in accessible terms and to forge effective internal and external working relationships
- Great analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
