Axon Moore are delighted to be working with a well-established and growing group based in Brighouse. The company has gone from strength to strength dominating their market and are always on the lookout for ambitious and driven people for their team. They currently have a requirement for a Management Accountant to assist in the finance department.

In the role of Management Accountant, you will support the team with the with the creation of the Brighouse Sites P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statement. You will help with the production of management information and provide support to business decision makers. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious candidate with Assistant Management Accounts experience who is looking for a step up into a hands-on role in an ever-growing business! 


Salary and Benefits:

Salary £30,000 - £38,000 DOE, study support with ACA, ACCA or CIMA as well as on the job training, 25 days plus bank holidays, hybrid after training period, progression plan and mentorship.


Role Overview:
  • Management of the month end process from posting journals, to the production of the TB and subsequent management accounts.
  • Production of detailed ledger recs to underpin the integrity of the management accounts.
  • Variance analysis of current month, YTD and full year versus budget and forecast.
  • Identifying key issues with courses of action to the Head of Finance.
  • Day to day operational management of two transactional staff ensuring that their output is managed in line with business practice and month end timelines.
  • Take ownership of the 13 week rolling cashflow process, submit in line with the Group timetable.
  • Track all capex against budget and forecast.
  • Support the Head of Finance on the production of quarterly re-forecast of P&L, Balance Sheet & Cashflow with supporting commentary in line with Group reporting requirements.
  • Support the Head of Finance as required on the annual budget process, taking ownership of deliverable as agreed with Head of Finance.
 
Required skills: 
  • Part qualification in ACA, ACCA or CIMA and an active studier
  • Experience working in an Assistant Management Accountant role or similar, with experience with the P&L and Balance Sheet
  • Strong communication - written and verbal
  • Excellent excel skills are essential, ability to confidently use vlookups and pivot tables
  • A driven individual with a positive “can do” and “will do” attitude
  • Ability to successfully organise and prioritise work dynamically
  • Any experience of contract accounting or revenue recognition would be of interest
