Management Accountant | Altrincham | Up to £45k | Hybrid
I am delighted to be working alongside a market leading, highly entrepreneurial, privately owned business based in South Manchester looking to add a Management Accountant to their team. From the beginning of their journey to now the business has evolved significantly through an impressive growth journey and with no signs of slowing down, this an exciting time to join an already established business during a continuous phase of expansion.
Reporting into the financial controller, the successful applicant will be a pivotal member of the finance function supporting the wider group of businesses in all aspects of financial reporting.
With no future plans to recruit above this level, this is very exciting role in a fast-paced company; enabling excellent career progression for the right person.
Key Responsibilities:
Line management of 1 Finance Assistant an 1 Finance Apprentice
Mentor and develop junior members of finance team, including monthly 1-2-1’s and Personal Development Plans
Production of monthly management accounts for all group companies including (but not limited to) month end close, calculation of accrued/deferred income, prepayments, accruals, maintenance of Fixed Asset Register, intercompany reconciliation
Owner of balance sheet reconciliations for all group companies
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for margin improvement
Production of quarterly VAT returns
Cash management
Review of supplier payment runs
Review of monthly payrolls
Identify and implement improvements to procedures / processes and systems
Ownership of issue resolution and escalation point for any financial queries
Support with budgeting and forecasting
Assisting with annual audit and statutory reporting
Assisting in the implementation of a new finance system
Requirements:
Finalist / Newly Qualified CIMA/ACCA
Ability to demonstrate high attention to detail and show strong analytical skills.
Good technical accounting knowledge.
Advanced computer literacy skills, particularly in Excel.
Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders
Be proactive and think outside the box
Be able to adapt in a rapidly changing environment
Willingness to “roll sleeves up” and support the wider business
Team player with a friendly and open manner
