Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong and commercially astute Management Accountant, to join one of Harrogate's fastest growing businesses!

Established 10 years ago with Head Offices based just outside of Harrogate town centre, the business have experienced phenomenal growth over the last 3 years, and have now become a market leader across the whole of the UK.

This role will be ideally suited to an AAT Qualified or Part Qualified CIMA / ACA or ACCA looking to fast track their careers. This roles comes with full study support and a development plan.

The business have newly refurbished offices based in Harrogate, with on site parking and close to the train station, but they offer permanent hybrid working, with the option to work two days a week from home!


Key duties of this role will include:
  • Lead on accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and client-based reconciliations
  • Profit Margin Analysis
  • Produce monthly management accounts for 1st draft review
  • Maintain Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Manage Payroll and Expenses process ensuring accurate accounts.
  • Be the primary contact for internal accounting queries for the expanding property portfolio.
  • Use commercial acumen to identify commercial opportunities
  • Analyse key variances that drive movements in the financial accounts and make recommendations.
  • Support in the review, analysis, and production of the annual budgets.
  • Identify opportunities for streamlining and improvements ensuring accuracy of numbers.
  • Assist in monitoring of KPI targets for the team and produce action plans.
  • Support the Assistant Management Accountants in the development of their knowledge and skills.
  • Encourage innovation within the finance team on reporting techniques and process efficiencies.
  • Maintain and build key relationships with stakeholders across the business.
  • Monthly meetings with Operational team to understand the cost drivers within the business, gain an understanding of potential savings and challenge any overspend.
  • Support with the annual external audit.

The successful candidate will:
  • Be AAT Qualified or actively studying towards CIMA, ACCA or ACA
  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience in management accounts - Essential
  • Have advanced knowledge of MS Excel - Essential
  • Have experience in designing and implementing automated reports/processes - Desirable
