Management Accountant | Central Manchester | Technology | Private Equity | £45,000-£50,000

Job Overview:

A truly outstanding, Private Equity Backed Technology company based in Central Manchester are looking for a Management Accountant to join their team.

This is a true A* role, and perfect for a newly Qualified Accountant, first time mover from practice, or an individual looking to continue their career in industry. The role will gain exposure to a prominent PE House, work directly with Big 4 advisors, and take responsibility for a wide remit of finance including month/ year end, business partnering, consolidation and commercial analysis.

Operating out of state of the art, shared working environment the organisation promotes an excellent culture, with social events, coffee machines, onsite barista, beer fridge and more. Whilst the social aspect of the role is important, arguably the biggest sell to this role is working alongside a high calibre CFO who has several examples of hiring individuals in similar roles and fast-tracking them into senior finance positions.

Salary: £45,000-£50,000 + discretionary bonus
Location: Central Manchester

Main Duties:
  • Assisting with month-end reporting across multiple group entities including ownership of the sales & purchase ledger reporting, fixed asset registers & balance sheet reconciliations whilst working to tight deadlines.
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
  • Making general ledger journals and adjustments.
  • Assisting with year-end statutory accounts preparation, audit and tax projects.
  • Responsible for management of customer subscriptions and preparing and issuing sales invoices.
  • Responsible for collecting cash from customers in coordination with an outsourced credit agency.
  • Managing purchase ledger and preparing bank payment runs.
  • Processing of employee expense claims.
  • Developing and maintaining knowledge across multiple group systems.
  • Opportunities to be involved in projects with the wider organisation including HR, Operational and Commercial teams.
  • Business process improvement – bring financial expertise to key business processes to improve accuracy and operational efficiencies.
  • Continuously seek to improve processes and create a robust controls framework which is scalable to support a business with ambitious plans for growth.
  • Playing a key role in any additional finance projects.
  • Developing and refining reports to analyse specific P&L and Balance sheet items as necessary.
  • Working closely with the wider finance team.
  • Provide holiday cover for other members of the team as required.
Person Specification:
  • Qualified Accountant, either from practice or industry.
  • Strong academic background.
  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge.
  • SaaS is desirable but not expected.
  • Strong Excel capability.
  • Excellent communicator, capable of disseminating financial information to both finance, and none finance individuals.
  • Experience working in an environment with tight deadlines.
  • High level of ambition to develop their career.
