Job description

This is a newly created Management Accountant position is working for the division of a highly successful, UK wide PLC. The role will form part of a small finance function working directly alongside the Divisional Finance Director!

Reporting to the FD this role would ideally suit a part or fully qualified management accountant with strong technical and analytical skills.

This role will appeal to an accountant who likes a ‘hands on’ and well rounded/varied role as it will involve business partnering and analysis business areas and processes.

The role will offer great exposure initially but then also future opportunities for development and progression within the wider group!

The key duties of the role will include:
  • Assisting the FD with the monthly management accounts and variance analysis for submission to both the Company’s board of directors and the Group finance team for incorporation in the Group’s consolidated accounts.
  • Business partnering with factory management to track and analyse running cost and identify areas to improve efficiencies
  • Fortnightly cash forecasting and reporting.
  • Quarterly profit forecasting.
  • Annual budget including setting of departmental budgets with assistance for departmental heads and monitoring of those costs.
  • Annual published IFRS statutory financial statements.
  • Assist with the integration of systems and processes.
  • Improve the financial processes and procedures required to support the development of the business, including improving internal control process and procedures.
  • Development of KPI reporting and the production and interpretation of management information across the business.
  • Improve the quality of the financial information, drive systems development and develop procedures to improve the quality of information available.
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis as required by the Company’s board and Group finance team.

The successful candidate will:
  • Be nearly or fully qualified ACCA/ACAC/CIMA - Essential
  • Have previous experience in a month end accounting role - Essential
  • Have previous experience within a manufacturing or construction business - Desirable
  • Have a good knowledge of MS Excel - Essential
