Payroll Assistant
Full-time
Location: Newton Le Willows - Hybrid


Fantastic opportunity with an extremely successful, high-growth business based in Newton Le Willows. To support the on-going growth of their business, they are seeking a high-calibre Payroll Assistant that would be happy to take on a broader role.


The role offers hybrid working with only 1-2 days required in the head office.


Requirements of the Role
  • To process supplier invoices and reconciling supplier statements
  • Manage the finance email inbox, responding to & redirecting queries as required.
  • Monitor and review of outstanding invoices and prompt resolution of queries.
  • Complete the monthly payroll process.
  • Manage all PAYE related matters including, SSP, SMP, SPP, statutory deductions, Attachment of earnings, Pension deduction, Starters/Leavers, PAYE end of year procedures including provision of end of year forms P60s and P11ds.
  • Manage HMRC queries.
  • Submit monthly PAYE and pension contributions on schedule.
  • Calculate employee tax benefits.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and monthly journals.
  • Be a point of contact for payroll queries within the team.
  • Assist with reviews of employee expenses.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with preparation of the monthly payment run.
  • Assist with month-end closure and analysis.
  • Assist with VAT return preparation.
Skills, experience, and qualifications
  • Previous experience of transactional payroll activities either in a payroll or HR role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (High Level of face to face/confidence)
  • Strong organisation skills
