Payroll Manager/Specialist
Manchester City Centre

Job Description: As a seasoned Payroll Manager/Specialist, your primary responsibilities include managing payroll processes for various regions, including the UK, EU, USA, and Australia. You have experience in overseeing both internal and external payroll operations and possess strong proficiency in using Sage Payroll software. Your role involves ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while adhering to legal and regulatory compliance in each region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sole responsibility for managing the internal UK payroll using Sage Payroll. This involves processing employee salaries, deductions, and taxes, as well as handling any payroll-related queries or issues.
• Manage payroll operations in other regions, such as the EU, USA, and Australia. This may involve working with external payroll providers who process payroll on your behalf. Your responsibilities include coordinating with these providers, reviewing their work, and ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Stay up-to-date with the payroll laws and regulations in each region you manage. Ensure that all payroll processes are compliant with local and international laws and standards.
• Utilise software to streamline and automate payroll processes. This may involve configuring the software, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing its use to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Maintain accurate and organised payroll records, including employee data, tax information, and payment details. Ensure data confidentiality and security.
• Generate and analyse payroll reports to provide insights to management and facilitate decision-making. This includes creating financial reports, tax reports, and compliance reports.
• Collaborate with HR, finance, and other departments to address payroll-related inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and provide support to employees regarding payroll matters.
• Identify and resolve any issues related to payroll processing, including discrepancies, errors, and exceptions.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Several years of experience in managing payroll operations, especially with expertise in Sage Payroll for the UK.
• Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements in the UK, EU, USA, and Australia.
• Experience in working with external payroll providers or third-party platforms.
• Accuracy and precision in payroll processing and record-keeping.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with various teams and address payroll-related inquiries.
• Ability to analyse payroll data and generate meaningful reports.
• Up-to-date knowledge of payroll-related laws and regulations in multiple regions.
• Ability to identify and resolve payroll-related issues efficiently.
• Ensure the security and confidentiality of payroll data.
