In the role of Programme Accountant, you will be a highly visible member of the finance team, liaising with the Production department and Operations to ensure they have a good financial overview on the full events programme. You will support with forecasting and budgets for events, ensuring financial expectations are met. You will be a direct point of contact to other key stakeholders on various projects, so this post also requires some business partnering attributes.

Role Overview:
The role covers three main aspects: Financial Planning, Accounting and Reporting.
- Working across the production department to maintain a full financial view of the programme including total project expenditure budgets and expenditure cash-flows.
- Working across the Production and Operations departments to ensure that all projects are forecast on a consistent expenditure basis in terms of indirect venue costs allocated.
- Attending key internal programme meetings such as Programme Planning to ensure changes to the programme are financially tracked.
- Working across various departments to ensure that income projections are forecast and reliably phased based around on-sale dates and key campaign activity.
- Working with the International department to maintain an up-to-date view of co- commissioning income attached to the programme.
- Work with heads of various departments to maintain an accurate and up to date view of the P&L for commercial hires activity.
- Acting as finance lead on the accounting of the full Programme ensuring that all year-end accruals are made, and all income correctly deferred or accrued.
- Ensuring that where contingencies are required, these are tracked and managed within the overall Programme financials.
- Deliver an enhanced system of financial reporting of the Programme through the accounting system, supporting overall financial management of the projects.
- Prepare and present reports on the programme financials, agreeing these with the Director of Production for dissemination across key internal and external stakeholders to support financial oversight of the programme.
- Part qualification in ACCA or CIMA would be preferred
- Experienced accountant, familiar with P&L, budgets and cash-flows
- Experience working in projects within any sector would be highly beneficial
- An interest in culture or events would be beneficial
- Confidence when communicating to senior stakeholders and non-finance team members
- Well organised and meticulous in the role
- A driven individual with a positive “can do” and “will do” attitude
- Ability to successfully organise and prioritise work dynamically
