Job description

Axon Moore are delighted to be working with a global well-established manufacturing business based in Stoke-on-Trent, who due to growth are looking for a Project Accountant to join their team. This excellent opportunity will see you working for a specialised business that utilises their engineering expertise within the group to create products that are shipped globally.

Within this role, you be responsible for supporting their Finance Manager with project delivery. You will be responsible for liaising with key stakeholders across the business to provide budgets and forecasting to support the delivery of internal projects.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Managing quotes and preparing project budgets.
  • Preparing weekly/monthly reports on the progress and costs on the projects compared to budget.
  • Identifying and investigating any costing overspends.
  • Identifying areas of work undertaken that were not in the original quote.
  • Preparing project completion forecasts.
  • Preparing the cash flows and monitoring progress compared to quote.

To be considered for this role, you will have the following:-
  • Ideally have previous experience within a manufacturing/production engineering environment.
  • Be AAT qualified or studying towards your CIMA/ACCA qualification, however, bright graduates will also be considered for this role.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Understanding of the principles of IFRS15 are beneficial but not essential.
  • Be driven and motivated, with a passion to succeed and develop.
  • Have strong communication skills.
