Job description

Axon Moore are partnering with a well-established business in Oldham, who are looking to appoint an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk into the accounts team.

You will be responsible for the end to end function of the Purchase ledger, working collaboratively with the wider accounts team to ensure the smooth process from inputting invoices to creating payment runs.

Salary - £24-25k per annum, 22 days holidays plus banks, pension, parking. Potential for other eligible benefits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Processing supplier invoices with a high level of accuracy
  • Reconcile supplier statements and issue monthly statements
  • Resolve supplier queries and invoicing errors in a timely manner
  • Processing of subcontractor invoices
  • Run credit checks on suppliers to ensure no issues arise
  • Agree payment terms with new suppliers
  • Ensure all payment details are correct and up to date
  • Accounting for VAT
  • Create reports for the operations team
  •  Other ad-hoc accounting duties as required
Experience and skills:
  • Experience in a Purchase Ledger role
  • An AAT or Bookkeeping qualification would be an advantage
  • Experience using accounting systems (Sage) would be beneficial
  • A strong work ethic - proactive in your work, showing initiative
  • Team player, happy to help the wider team where needed
  • Good attention to detail and able to work to a fast pace where necessary
