Senior Accounts Assistant | £28,000- £35,000 | Burnley | High Growth SME | Flexible Working Hours | Full Study Support |25 Days Holiday plus Bank Holidays
Axon Moore is working in an exclusive partnership with a high-growth SME in Burnley who have had an excellent period of trading over the past 12 months and are searching for an experienced Accounts Assistant who is looking to take ownership of transactional duties and add value to the business.
A generous starting salary is on offer up to £35,000 and there is scope to become involved with wider areas of the accounts team. The team is friendly and down to earth which is well suited to a chatty and personable candidate as the business also boasts a great working culture.
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of accounting processes, controls and will be able to work flexibly.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Purchase and sales ledger duties
- Bank reconciliations
- Weekly payment runs
- Credit control
- Monitoring the shared mailbox
- Ensure POs approved, coded and raised in timely manner
- Assisting to ensure the correct VAT has been applied to transactions
- Ensure agreed payment terms are adhered to
- Assisting with monthly management accounts
- Preparing and positing monthly accruals and prepayments
- Ad hoc duties
- 3 years’ experience within a finance role
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel
- Adaptable and flexible
- Positive can-do attitude with an enthusiastic approach
- Excellent attention to detail
- Clear, confident telephone manner
- An ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Experience of SAP desired but not essential
