Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially astute and technically strong management accountant/business partner to join a high growth, PE backed technology business based in Canterbury.

The business has been established for just over 20 years, and has grown significantly in that time having doubled in size in the last 18 months!

As a consequence of this growth, and with further expansion plans in the pipeline over the next 2 years, the business are now looking to hire a strong business partner/management accountant into a newly created Senior Finance Manager position.

The role will report directly to the FD and CEO and be instrumental in driving the business forward to their next growth phase by providing clear analysis, reporting and advising and influencing key business decisions.

**The role would be ideally suited to someone fully qualified (or QBE) with a solid management accounts background and advanced excel/reporting skills (ideally SQL/VBA) with the ability to engage and build relationships with non finance stakeholders in an SME environment**


Reporting to the FD and CEO, the key duties of this role will include:

  • Production of the group monthly management accounts up to review with the CFO.
  • Work with rest of finance team to ensure month end procedures are carried out with all journals posted correctly & in a timely manner.
  • Maintain intercompany reconciliations.
  • Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled each month along with intercompany balances.
  • Carry out variance analysis across the group with insight into revenues and costs.
  • Continuous development of departmental reporting & KPIs, responding to business needs for management information.
  • Act as a finance business partner across the business in co-ordination with the Group FD
  • Assisting in the annual audit process
  • Ensuring annual corporation tax packs are completed.
  • Creation and updating of cashflow forecasts.
  • Assisting in the production of annual budgets & forecasts.
  • Ensuring continuous improvement in financial controls & documentation of processes across the team.
  • Assisting in department & company-wide projects as required.
  • Deputise for Group FD as required.

The successful candidate will:
  • Be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified, or QBE equivalent - Essential
  • Have a solid background experience in management accounts and finance business partnering - Essential
  • Have advanced excel skills (advanced formulas & arrays, pivot tables, Power Pivot, Power Query) - Essential
  • Have previous experience of VBA or SQL - Desirable
  • Have previous experience or knowledge of MS Dynamics - Desirable
