Job description

Exciting and unique opportunity with an extremely successful, highly-acquisitive large Group based in Cheshire. To support the on-going growth of the business, they are seeking a high-calibre qualified accountant to join as Senior Management Accountant.
 
This is a newly-created role to lead the continuous improvement of systems, controls and procedures, including, the documentation of each process and testing their robustness to prevent misstatement in the company’s financial accounts. This new role follows the completion of a roll-out of a new ERP system across the business and an ambition to move towards a controls-based audit.
 
Your role will cover the following:

- Lead best practices approach to financial reporting
- Review all processes that have a financial impact
- Develop and maintain process maps for system processes
- Propose improvements to the control environment for all processes
- Business partnering with the Systems Development team to ensure the financial impact of     developments are reviewed and signed off
- Continuous review and improvement of system generated accounting transactions
- Advise and support the financial reporting and analysis team, particularly around key monthly and annual reporting deadlines

It’s an ideal role for a well-organised ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Ideally, you should have gained minimum 1 years PQE in Industry although first time movers from Practice will also be considered. A self-starter, and methodical in approach, you will need to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of processes and reporting, good excel skills and a strong controls background.
