Role: Purchase Ledger Clerk

Reporting to: Finance Manager

Work Arrangement: Hybrid, 36 hours per week, Monday – Friday (½ day)

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 DOE

Key Purpose of the Role 
  • This business has witnessed significant growth in recent years and, as such, are seeking an assured Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their team
  • This role will be well suited to an experienced candidate who possesses exceptional organisational, numerical and computer skills, is able to communicate confidently and is driven by success. Ideally, the Purchase Ledger Clerk will have gained previous experience working within Accounts Payable roles prior to application
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Purchase ledger: inputting invoices, matching to purchase orders, obtaining authorisation where necessary, coding to the system, reconciling supplier statements on a weekly/monthly basis, resolving any queries and batching ready for payment
  • Reconciling multiple bank statements daily (including foreign bank accounts)
  • Ability to work across multiple entities and divisions
  • Liaising and managing relationships with external stakeholders via phone and email
  • Preparing proposed payment runs and uploading payments onto the bank
  • Supporting the Finance Manager in other ad hoc duties
 Person Specification

Knowledge and Experience





3+ years in a similar role



 

Experience using Navision or similar accounting software

   

Skills and Abilities

Proficient IT skills including MS Office 365 and ability to learn new systems

   

Excellent communications skills (written and verbal) and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of individuals in a diverse environment

   

Ability to learn new tasks efficiently and absorb new information



 

Output orientated with a drive to deliver targets



 

Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan ahead whilst being able to adjust to changing work priorities



 

A strong ‘can do’ attitude with the ability to work independently or within a small team
