Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk | £25,000 - £28,000 | Preston + Hybrid | Fast-growing, PE-backed business | Great team and working culture

Axon Moore has exclusively partnered with a fantastic business in Preston as they recruit for an experienced and assured Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger Clerk to take on an end-to-end role and be given the autonomy to implement new processes, efficiencies and automations.

This business has witnessed significant growth in recent years and, as such, are going through an exciting period of transition. As such, this role will be well suited to a proactive candidate who possesses exceptional organisational, numerical and computer skills, is able to communicate confidently and is driven by success.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Act as main point of contact for the accounts payable function
  • Matching and posting supplier invoices
  • Dealing with supplier queries
  • Supplier statement reconciliations
  • Setting up and managing supplier accounts
  • Ensuring correct VAT rate applied to all invoices raised
  • Allocating un-applied cash
  • Liaising with suppliers on a regular basis via telephone and email
  • Weekly supplier payment run
  • Other ad-hoc tasks
Required Skills and Experience:
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Good IT and Microsoft Excel skills
  • Boast a tenacious, problem-solving attitude
  • Enthusiastic team player with a positive, hard-working approach
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Well organised and self-motivated with an ability to prioritise and manage own time efficiently and effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Adaptable and flexible nature
