Reporting to the Finance Director and the Financial Accountant, this broad and exciting Accounts Assistant role lends itself to somebody with a strong background in transactional finance and primarily consists of Accounts Receivable/Sales Ledger and Credit Control duties. For this role though, the ability to work in a timely and efficient manner whilst building good rapport across different departments of the business is essential.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Daily reconciliation of cashing up and banking.
  • Ensure timely payment of credit sales invoices.
  • Allocating various payment types to the correct invoices and sales ledger accounts.
  • Oversee and monitor debtors with weekly meetings and directly liaising with various departments to ensure timely payment of all invoices.
  • Reconciliation of sales ledger accounts.
  • Bank statement postings and reconciliation.
  • Month-end duties.
  • Other ad-hoc duties.
  • To develop skills within the department including gaining experience with company specific practices (CSPs), month end routines within the CSPs, Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Nominal Ledger (including journal posting), collation of information for VAT returns, IFC submissions etc.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • At least 1-2 years’ experience within a similar role.
  • Experience of complex reconciliations.
  • Able to develop and maintain good internal and external working relationships
  • Able to efficiently manage a high-volume workload.
  • Sage and Microsoft Excel proficient.
  • Proactive, self-motivated and organised.
  • Able to work efficiently both independently and collaboratively.
