VAT Manager | Central MCR | Technology | £50,000-£60,000 + bonus

Job Overview:

Axon Moore are once again working with a client that is continually operating at the forefront of their market globally as they continue to see excellent growth across various regions.

As part of the continued development of their Manchester based finance team, they are looking for a dedicated VAT specialist to join a high calibre function that is looking to strength an already impressive outfit. Reporting directly to the Tax Manager, this role will have significant exposure across the business and will gain an excellent opportunity to pick up further responsibility and exposure.

There are very few opportunities within the VAT space, that provides the same amount of flexibility and also variety to your work. With both organic and M&A growth predicted, this role will become a specialist business partner for various internal stakeholders, building an excellent CV in the process.

Location: Central Manchester
Salary: Up to £60,000
Benefits: 25 days annual leave + bank, 1 day paid leave for charitable work Bonus, flexible working, hybrid working (2 days in the office), 5% employer contribution

Responsibilities

• Preparation of VAT returns across multiple regions.
• Reconciliation of VAT accounts, identifying and resolving errors.
• Monitoring of compliance requirements.
• Review records of VAT-related transactions, invoices, receipts, and financial documents.
• Manage registrations and de-registrations as required.
• Stay informed about changes in VAT laws and regulations, advising the business on impacts and future requirements.
• Provide guidance to internal departments and stakeholders on Indirect tax queries.
• Manage communications with external advisors and Tax Authorities in respect of VAT audits, collating information required and drafting disclosures.
• Provide internal VAT training and guidelines, focusing on implications for each department.
• Provide input and advice on VAT planning and consideration of VAT implications of proposed business strategies.
• Consult on systems implementation/migration projects to maximise VAT reporting opportunities.
• Conduct analysis/reviews of VAT recovery opportunities.

Person Specification

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA), we will also consider Qualified by Experience
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent VAT knowledge with experience working with large organisations.
• High level of organisation skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, where systems are processes are continuing to be implemented.
