Job description

Axon Moore are working with a Global market leading retail company who are looking for an interim Financial Controller to work at the Blackburn head office.

The company and in particular the Finance Team is expanding, hence there is a new opportunity available for a Financial Controller.

As UK Financial Controller you will play an integral part in the ongoing development of the function and continuous development of the team. We are looking for a pro-active accountant who has extensive finance experience and can successfully deliver financial management duties including; corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as improving internal control procedures.

Duties:
  • Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts from trial balance to financial statements.
  • Responsible for the internal and external reporting process; including the management of audits across all UK entities.
  • Ensuring adherence to IFRS accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements. Continuous management and development of the team, motivating & inspiring them to achieve results
  • Comparing actual performance to budget and prior year and articulate understanding of underlying business performance.
  • Business partnering with key stakeholders.
  • Supporting group related requests.
  • Supporting the commercial finance team with information and performance analysis to drive decision making for local teams.
  • Overseeing the preparation statutory accounts and monthly Group pack submissions.
  • Leading on finance system transformation processes.
  • Managing integration of acquisitions into the UK Finance Team.
Person Specification:
  • Fully qualified accountant with extensive finance knowledge & experience.
  • Adaptable and responds positively to changing priorities.
  • Commitment to continuously develop and motivate the team to be the best version of themselves.
  • Confident communicator who can collaborate with senior stakeholders & teams.
