Job description

Axon Moore have partnered with an international business based in Manchester City Centre looking for an interim SAP Data Analyst to join an established team and assist with a SAP system overhaul and to interrogate and improve the quality of the master data.  

As SAP Data Analyst you will be collating and interrogating, Supplier Data, Customer data, Product data (material master) including: Customer prices, Supplier prices, Product specifications

The Data Analyst role is pivotal in the management of master data across the business. You  will be accountable for the quality and consistency of all master data held and responsible for ensuring that it is updated and changed in accordance with defined processes, rules and with the approval of the relevant stakeholders.

Duties:
  • Owning the end-to-end master data processes.
  • Managing an administrative support team.
  • Documenting and mapping the agreed components of each master data element and the stakeholder who is accountable for each (in accordance with the RACI)
  • Develop, apply, and maintain appropriate system and procedural controls to ensure consistent and accurate data management and associated reporting.
  • Manage models (supported by the central Data & Analytics team) to automate the update of product buy and sell prices.
  • Liaise with the SAP team to ensure that all changes to master data are made correctly
  • Ensure that master data is updated consistently across all platforms, so they all reflect the same information at the same time.
  • Management of the pricing and master data administration team (offshore)
  • Checking and co-ordinating master data management requests between the business and its (external) SAP team so that master data changes are made correctly
  • Working with the Finance team to provide information on buy or sell prices in the platform that can be used in financial modelling, analysis and forecasting exercises
  • Working with the Sourcing team to ensure that any supplier buy price changes are made correctly to master data with the correct authorisation
  • Working with the Key Account Directors and SPMs to set up new products and implement buy and sell price additions/changes after the completion of value delivery projects
  • Working with colleagues in the Data & Analytics team to calculate the quarterly inflationary customer price adjustments (RMI and PPI), obtain the relevant approvals and ensure that these are made in SAP and Mtivity/Lockit
  • Share product buy and sell prices with the Commercial Excellence Business Analyst and Finance Business Partners (as required) to assist them with their analysis so that they can identify commercial issues and opportunities
  • Work with the Central Vendor Management team to ensure that new suppliers and supplier details changes are correctly reflected in SAP, Mtivity/Lockit and the finance LSP ERP platforms
  • Working with the Key Account Directors and finance to ensure that any changes to customer details, new sites and site closures are correctly reflected in the finance LSP ERP platforms
Person Specification:
  • Relevant experience in a similar role managing master data
  • Excellent SAP Master Data skills for Material Master Data, Order to Cash and Purchase to Pay
  • Experience and expertise in use of Excel is essential and Power BI would be advantageous.
  • A proven track record of working in a fast moving and ever changing environment
  • Excellent communication skills with different stakeholders including senior management
  • The ability to work to a number of conflicting deadlines and prioritise workloads efficiently.
  • Strong administration and process improvement skills
